MEET YOUR
FILMMAKER

ANNE MARIE
Hi! I'm Anne Marie — an analog videographer & photographer based in Brooklyn, spending summers in Northern Michigan (soft spot for Walloon weddings).
I love capturing people in their element, their most alive. Especially on Super 8, it gets the feeling just right. Filming feels less like coverage and more like a treasure hunt.

ONE OF MY FIRST SUPER 8 FILMS
Running around with friends, costumes and a camera from 1972 — a love letter to Austin, TX.

THE WORLD OF YE-YE ("yay-yay")
The name references the original Yé-Yé girls, 1960s French pop singers — think Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, France Gall. My mom gave me a book about them when I was 13.
They were a sneak peek into a world of color and cheeky, sensual songs — a first glimpse of womanhood, really. Miniskirts and bubblegum-pop one day, menswear and melancholy the next. Not too concerned with what was expected of them.
They drew me to the French New Wave — a film movement that embraced imperfection and experimentation— something that feels especially relevant now, in a world that’s become increasingly polished and digital.
